Smoke free Spain: good news for Murcia holiday rentals
On the 2nd January Spain followed in the footsteps of countries such as the UK and France by enforcing public anti-smoking laws.
All bars and restaurants will now be smoke free in Spain, with one of Europe’s toughest anti-cigarette laws coming into effect earlier this year. In addition, children’s school playgrounds and the area around hospitals will be a smoke free zone. Broadcasters are also prohibited from televising smokers, in a bid to create a healthier Spanish population.
The health conscious holidaymaker travelling to Murcia for their summer villa holiday are among the benefactors of these new prohibitions, which hopes to diminish the number of passive smoking related diseases for non-smokers as well as encourage existing smokers to quit.
