Progress for Paramount Pictures theme park in Murcia

A piece of land formerly selected by Polaris World to house the Sierra de Alhama Golf Resort will now be part of the proposed site for Paramount Pictures Theme Park in Murcia.
The location, offering 1,716,000 square meters, worth approximately 15.6 million Euros and comprising 15 adjacent plots that are currently owned by Sierra Alhama Golf Resort S.A; Gisapfruit S.L, SAT Canacrin; Infraestructura Terrestre S.A. and Desarollo Antrade S.A. has easy access to the ‘in-progress’ International Airport in Corvera which is just fifteen minutes’ drive away.
The site is also close to the popular Polaris World Condado de Alhama Golf Resort just 7 minutes from the site. Further details and plans will reportedly be released by Paramount Pictures in the next few months, including details about rides and facilities. The park is estimated to be up and running in approximately 4 years (2015).
Pedro Cruz, the Consejero for Tourism & Culture said the park is predicted to attract up to 4.5 million holidaymakers per year once the theme park is completed; not only will this be a boost for tourism and the local economy but owners of villas and apartments on the Costa Calida are also set to see a big boost in holiday rentals market in Murcia. Villa rentals in Murcia are a popular choice for holidaymakers in the area, offering comfortable, affordable and family orientated accommodation.
Murcia is showing all the signs of becoming one of the top destinations in Spain for family and group holidays, and a Paramount Pictures Theme Park in Murica will certainly help put the region on the map. It is all just a question of the right funding and time.
