Spanish strikes may ruin Easter holiday rentals in Spain for Brits

Spanish airport workers have threatened to strike over the Easter holiday period, which could affect every airport in the country.
If the planned strike goes ahead airlines such as Ryanair will be forced to cancel hundreds of flights, potentially ruining Easter holidays to popular Spanish destinations such as Murcia.
The Spanish airport workers are threatening 22 days of industrial action, to commence on April 20th. The disruption is feared to continue into the summer, which could cause chaos for the busy summer holiday period if the Spanish workers decide to go ahead with the strike. The staff dispute is a result of plans to privatise the state-owned airport, which could see the 12,500 ground staff lose their jobs.
Lyn Hughes, editor of Wanderlust travel magazine, told Sky News: "This is going to be absolutely disastrous for Spain. The economy there has been in terrible trouble for the last couple of years, and of course tourism is a major part of their economy."
However, Spanish Ambassador Carles Casajuna has stated that both sides wish to avoid the 22-day strike, and communications are currently open.
