LifeStyle Center to Accompany Paramount Theme Park
The President and CEO of Proyectos Emblematicos Murcianos has revealed an exciting new project in Madrid. It includes the new Paramount theme park that is to be built in Murcia (the first Paramount theme park to be built in Europe) and a new cultural business and leisure centre called the Lifestyle Center.
Both the President of the Autonomous Community of the region of Murcia and the Executive Vice President of Paramount Licensing Inc were present to show their support of this exciting new proposal. “Paramount chose the Region of Murcia for this project because of the exceptional qualities that make it a popular tourist destination.
The support from the regional and local governments as well as PREMURSA is remarkable and we look forward to creating a world-class destination," said Michael Bartok Executive Vice President of Paramount Licensing Inc. This project will no doubt have an amazing impact of the regions tourism as more than 3 million tourists both Spanish and international are expected annually. The budget for this development is 1.1 billion Euros, with the theme park sized at 550,00 square meters and the business and leisure complex which will be adjacent to the park sized at 1,030,00 square meters.
The theme park and the lifestyle Center will be promoted by Proyectos Emblematicos Murcianos S.A. (PREMURSA), established by Santa Monica Financial Services S.L., with 80%; Region de Murcia Turistica S.A. (REMUTURSA), with 10%; and Instituto de Fomento de la Region de Murcia (INFO), with the remaining 10%. PREMURSA has entered into an exclusive long-term license with Paramount Licensing Inc. for the development and operation of a theme park in Spain.
Although not an investor, Paramount representatives are actively engaged with the design developer of the park. During construction this project is estimated to generate 16,500 jobs and then 6,100 after completion. It is also said that this could generate 22,600 jobs through direct and indirect employment. It is easy to see why this is one of the pillars of the development strategy of the Murcia region. The President and CEO of Proyectos Emblematicos Murcianos Jesus Samper has said that he has great confidence in both public and private profitability.
Samper explains, "The project, will become, without a doubt, the development engine of the regional and local economy and will position the Murcian Region as a world tourist destination …..Alhama de Murcia has been chosen for the development of the first Paramount Themed Park in Europe because of its outstanding and unique geographic, historic and climatic characteristics.
The region is ideal for many reasons, including its 300 sunny days per year, its beaches less than 30 minutes away, its amazing natural and cultural heritage, and its outstanding transportation infrastructure. Two airports, the new International Airport of the Region of Murcia (opening estimated for 2012) and San Javier Airport will provide easy access by air and there is also an excellent road network between Madrid and the Mediterranean area.
A new High Speed Train line is expected to open in 2014 connecting Murcia with the main Spanish capitals. Locally, Alhama de Murcia is perfectly positioned between the main cities of the Region (Murcia, Cartagena and Lorca), at a distance of less than 50 Km. by highway,"Being the first Paramount theme park in Europe it will be a major destination attraction. It will bring the world famous films of Paramount to life with exciting state of the art technologies and over 30 attractions that will appeal to a broad range of ages.
There will also be 2 themed hotels, themed stores and restaurants on the site. The promenade will provide a grand entrance to enticing collection of retail and restaurants. There will also be a spectacular live Paramount stage show. This modern and thrilling park is sure to quickly become one of the most popular theme parks in Europe.There will be four themed areas within the park that will involve guests in the most famous of the Paramount films.
There is Adventure Land which will allow visitors to experience the most exciting scenes from films such as Mission: Impossible. Rango’s West is the area based on hit children’s film Rango and includes such rides as Ragin’ River Rapids and the Spirit of the West Mine Coaster. A favorite amongst children will no doubt be the Woodlands Fantasy area where they can join the Stardust’s Wizard Workshop or interact with the Spiderwick Chronicles dark ride adventure.
Finally all sci-fi fans will be impressed with the Plaza Futura area which will based on the other worldly scenes of Paramount films such as Star Trek.LifeStyle Center, a strategic center for business, cultural and leisure activities will be next to the Paramount Pictures them park. This will be a core center for business and leisure activity. It will include excellent hotels, restaurants and leisure activities all delivered to the highest standard.
This complex is sure to become large economic engine for Murcia. The center will be divided in 3 main areas. The hotel complex will include seven hotels which will attract both leisure and business travelers. Four will 3-star hotels, two will 4-star hotels and there will be one 5-star hotel which will include casino. There is a convention area which will be perfect for business travelers and event hosting. Possibly the most appealing part of the complex is the leisure centre which will be integrated into street mall which will include night clubs and bars.
There will also be an exhibition room, auditorium and a large convention room for cultural events. This will be a collection of venues and infrastructure that is not currently offered in Murcia.The commercial area will include a high tech business complex, which will allow the development of a financial hub for the future in the region.
The developers have even given a thought to the environment and created eco friendly transport between the park and the rest of the complex supported by sustainable energy technology, whilst still providing easy circulation of the guests.The LifeStyle Center will be the perfect project to accompany the Paramount theme park and not to mention an important asset for not just economic development but cultural and leisure development as well.The Paramount Picture theme park is predicted to open in spring 2015, along with the first phase of the LifeStyle Center.
