Over the next few years 2 more large projects have been planned for the region of Murcia, with help from some foreign investors. As part of an agreement with the South Korean company SK and Repsol ,

250 million Euros is to be invested into the Costa Calida to create an oil lubrication plant. The plant will create 1000 jobs and should be operational by 2014 to produce over 13,000 barrels.  Once up and running it will be the largest plant of its kind in Europe.

The worlds first large scale solar power plant will soon be coming to Murcia and will be creating electricity for more that 15,000 homes. There is also a very high possibility of more solar R&D in Murcia as the region is lucky enough to have the perfect weather conditions.

The consistent investment into Murcia’s industrial sectors will create more demand for property as the number of jobs in the region increases.  The average property prices and rental rates are set to rise over the next few years as well due to the much anticipated Paramount Pictures theme park which will bring millions of tourists through the region each year, and create more employment opportunities.
