La Serena Golf

 La Serena Golf

La Serena Golf which opened is 2006 is situated within the town of Los Alcazares which lies right next to the Mar Menor. It encircles the 500 year old "Torre del Rame" which was originally built to keep watch for pirates who took sanctuary in the restful waters of the Mar Menor.

The golf course designed by Manuel Pinere is has a traditional structures and is mainly flat. However this course is no walk in the park with the Levante wind and the many water hazards that come into play in 16 out of the 18 hole course. Off the tee accuracy is essential as bunkers and desert areas add to the main difficulties with this course.  The most notable feature is the size of the greens, with areas ranging from 600 m2 to 1000 m2..

La Serena Golf provides many facilities such as a large club house, a-la-carte restaurant and a bar-cafeteria with a terrace overlooking the golf course and the Mar Menor. The hotel has an Asian influenced spa, indoor pool, private jacuzzi, sauna, Turkish baths and exclusive suites.

The resort is only 10 minutes away from San Javier's Airport and 45 minutes away from Alicante's Airport.
