Resort details

The Roda Golf and Beach Resort is located just 7 minutes from San Javier airport and just a few minutes to the fabulous beaches of the Mar Menor. The towns of Los Alcazares and San Javier are just a couple of minutes away with all the usual bars and restaurants and are a hive of activity most evenings. The wonderful and ancient city of Cartagena is just 15 minutes drive and regular buses are available for those not wanting to drive. The shopping locally is superb with 2 major "out of town" shopping centres very close by.

Local area

Los Alcazares is a busy little town with all the usual, bars. shops, banks, restaurants etc. There is an excellent market on a Tuesday morning. The beach has a large promenade where you can cycle, run or walk alongside the Mar Menor sea. As you head toward Los Alcazares centre, alongside the Hotel 525 is what is termed the Mercadona strip (the Mercadona being a large supermarket), here is a strip of (mainly English) bars, shops and restaurants, this is literally 2 minutes drive from Roda Golf.

Travelling there

The nearest airport is Murcia, approximately 10 minutes drive away or alternatively Alicante which is approximately 1 hours drive away

Places of interest

The Costa Calida is a large stretch of Spanish coastline famous for its calm and tranquil waters. The climate is typically Mediterranean with an average temperature of 18 degrees dropping to 11 degrees in the winter months and as high as 40 degrees in the summer.

The capital city of Murcia is one of the most historic and beautiful in the country with a wealth of shops, bars and restaurants as well as fantastic architecture particularly the 14th century cathedral which took 4 centuries to complete. Murcia is approx. 30 mins drive from Roda Golf. Take the AP7 motorway, head north and turn off on the C3319 road which is signposted Murcia.

Cartagena is the nearest city to Roda Golf and is just 15 minutes drive south on the AP7. Cartagena is famous for its port and extensive history with the sea. The port area itself is well worth a visit and its large naval base is extremely important to Spain. Bars and cafes abound.
