Notes on accommodation

The 2 double sized bedroom look out across the cul de sac road which has no traffic apart from the people driving up to their properties (very quiet). Views in the distance stretch as far as Los Alcazares which is only 15min drive away. Both bedrooms have adequate cooling systems in the form of two ceiling fans which can be adjusted to variable speeds are are very quiet (never a need for air con).

There is no need to leave air conditioning on during the day or through the night as the apertment stays cool for the majority of the day given its shaded patio and area and in the nightime the fans (if used) do a great job.

 Mar Menor (little sea or small sea) is a salty lagoon, in the south-east of the autonomous Community of Murcia, in Spain, separated from the Mediterranean by La Manga, a sandbar 22km in length and with a variable width from 100 to 1200m.  It belongs to four municipalities: Cartagena, Los Alcázares, San Javier and San Pedro del Pinatar. With a surface area of nearly 170km², a coastal length of 70km, and warm and clear water which does not exceed 7m in depth, it is "the largest swimming pool in the world" according to the opinions of the famous swimmer and Hollywood actress Esther Williams. Its relatively high salinity, which aids flotation, and remarkable sporting infrastructures make this one of the most popular places in Europe for the practice and training of all kinds of water sports.

 La Manga Strip Beaches: La Manga Strip a unique location in Europe with 2 Seas, the Mediterranean and The Mar Menor to choose from and with beaches on both sides, you will be spoilt for choice. The La Manga Strip is over 10 miles long (over 14km) and at its widest point is only a half a mile wide and generally around 300 yards wide. The Mediterranean beaches are long and sandy and tend to have larger waves (we are not talking Atlantic breakers here though!) while the Mar Menor beaches are arranged in several broad bays and are sandy and gently shelving. Both are ideal for children and because of the amount of beach available here they don’t get packed even during the height of the summer.

 Cabo de Palos to Cartagena Beaches: The beaches from Cabo de Palos to Cartagena are some of the best in Spain and are located in the Calblanque Natural Park. This area located between the La Manga Strip and Cartagena is very different from the Mar Menor and La Manga areas. Here the landscape is much more rugged with hills falling into the Mediterranean Sea, creating beautiful golden sand coves. This area is only accessible by unmade roads (passable by normal car ok – so long as you take it steady). Also everything you take into the park you should take out with you – take only photos, leave only footprints !

 Costa Calida South Beaches: The Southern Costa Calida is a combination of rugged mountains and hills that plunge into the Mediterranean, and wide sandy bays. From Cartagena, the large beaches only really start again between La Azohia Cove and Mazarron, then again between Calabardina and Aguilas. Most of these beaches are blue flag, are all safe and good for swimming and there is excellent diving on the marine preserves such as Cabo Cope.

Paramount Theme Park - Opening 2014/15 

Paramount Pictures have chosen the region of Murcia for the construction of the biggest theme park in Spain, which aims to compete directly with Disneyland in Paris. The project will have the added value of some cinematographic studios which will be the centre of all Paramount’s productions in Europe. Construction of the park is due to begin in February 2012, with the project looking set to be completed by 2014? one year ahead of schedule.

The creators of the resort have promised it will be unlike any other visitor attraction, with many of the rides being interactive using previously unseen technology where you become part of the experience. It is expected to have 2.5 ? 3 million visitors per year increasing to 5 million visitors per year after five years. The location of the park benefits all residents at La Torre with the journey time no more than 30mins drive away.

Once you’ve decided to rent an apartment or villa with pool, flying to Murcia is easy and you can normally book cheap flights to either Alicante Airport or Murcia (San Javier Airport ) via the following airlines, just make sure you book early!. Notes on prices

All bookings are subject to a 65  Euro cleaning/laundry fee payable locally as well as a 20 euro meet and greet charge. A welcome pack for late arrivals can also be arranged on request, (to include wine, beer, bread, milk, eggs, butter, tea, coffee etc). Again this will be purchased by property management and the total charge for laundry, meet and greet and a welcome pack can be paid at the end of your stay,please ask for details. Towels and linen are included. If a cleaner is required during your stay this can be arranged and is payable locally. Please note: towels are for villa use only, guests should bring their own beach towels.

Booking notes

Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds. £100 non refundable deposit, per week is required to hold the property and dates. Full payment should be made eight weeks before arrival.  Weekend and shorter golf breaks are welcome at our nightly rates (depending on season) plus a standard cleaning and meet and greet fee (both paid locally). These may not be available during the busy summer season and are limited to 2 – 4 night stays. This is a strictly non-smoking villa but smoking is allowed on the patio. Late checkout can be requested at an additional charge but is subject to availability.  

All non UK bookings are subject to a £25 bank transfer fee.

Security deposit

In addition, a separate £200 security deposit is required when booking. Please note: your security deposit is fully refundable, providing there is no damage during your stay.  Please note: Connect Rentals can act only as a rental agent for the owner of this property 

Wrist bands for communal pools and tennis courts: Please note, resort management have issued a wrist band per guest that must be worn to use the communal pools and tennis courts.  If lost or misplaced a 30 Euro replacement fee per wrist band is payable locally to the key holder. This strict ruling is to prevent non resort residents using the communal pools and tennis courts. The property management will inspect the premises upon you departure and if theres any damage or loss of wristbands, there will be a charge.
