The park is to be built in Sierra Alhama in Murcia and is set to be the biggest of its kind. Documents have just been signed verifying that the building of the 600,000m² plot is to go ahead. The mayor of Murcia, Fernando Alfonso Ceron, was eager to confirm that this would begin in March 2012, in just 6 months time.

The news of the imminent opening of the park is massive for those involved in the tourist industry in Murcia. The park itself will make up a third of the plot space, with the other two thirds used for housing and hotels, as well as extra developments such as shops and restaurants. Further welcome news is that there will be a further 700,000m² plot next to the current plot, allowing the potential for even more growth in the area.

For the locals, the park will be sure to bring plenty of job opportunities, as well as helping those who currently work in the tourist industry in the region. Furthermore, those with rental villas in Murcia can expect much greater interest in their properties, as the theme park will surely be a huge draw for those holidaying in Spain. Many invested in properties in Murcia years ago, seeing it as an up and coming area, and it appears that they are finally being rewarded for their choice.
